“Megapixel cameras require managed traffic and many newer cameras require .at PoE power”, stated Neil Heller, Vigitron’s Vice President of Business Development. “With the Vi2804P, Vigitron has introduced a solution that addresses both requirements. The Vi2804P can provide full 802.3af or at power on each port with no power sharing assuring that maximum power rating are maintained. As a layer 2 network switch the Vi2804P eliminates the potentials of traffic collisions resulting in lost video and data. Further our use of fixed network management assures network security is maintained while eliminating the need for complex switch set ups.”
By providing extended Ethernet over both UTP and Coax, the Vi2804P can be placed at a remote location up to 5,000 ft. (1515 meters) from a control room. Each of the 4 ports can be used with Vigitron’s Vi2301 to provide total extended data transmission of approximately 8,000 feet (2,424 meters) with no power required at the camera site for transceivers and cameras. Using multiple Vi2804Ps, systems can be configured as drop and insert allowing for multiple cameras at multiple locations to connect to the control room over a single cable path. Using the Vi0015 combiner cable, two ports can be combined to provide output power of 60 watts.
The use of a four channel network switch meets the requirements of many applications where up to four cameras are routed to a single gathering point. The ability to transmit all four cameras over long distance using a single coax or Ethernet UTP cable run greatly reduces installation costs.

“As we started our development of extended PoE solutions of greater than 802.3at we realized the requirement for standard power supplies could not meet the demand. Vigitron introduces a 4-port Switch Series with Extended Ethernet Transmission over UTP and Coax

Vigitron has announced the release of their Vi2804 MaxiiCollector™ extended distance four port managed switch conforming to major network switch protocols. The Vi2804P provides individual port 802.3af or 802.at power with no power sharing depending on the input power supply.
The Vi2804’s extended port works in conjunction with Vigitron’s Vi2300 extended Ethernet over UTP and Vi2400 extended Ethernet over Coax series to provide transmission distances up to 5,000 feet (1524m) by providing both a UTP and Coax extended transmission output. Power can be provided using conventional 12VDC, 24VAC external power supplies or via PoE eliminating the need for extra cost power supplies or power sources. The Vi2408P can also be used as an AF/AT High Power PoE injector with the use of a 48VDC or 56VDC power supply depending on the required output. This unique combination of fixed management switch functionality, flexible power and extended distance results in high quality performance in a wide variety of applications. By providing both and RJ45 and coax connections, customer will no longer have to choose.

Operators can also elect detailed operation and monitoring using simple Windows™ based software. Programing provides for individual port enable/disable, port polling, voltage, amperage and output wattage monitoring, temperature, and remote PD classification. Shorts and other alarm conditions are noted in the software monitoring and indicated by flashing port LEDs on the front panel.

The patent-pending, ViewMateTM model Vi0020 PoE Camera Setup Tool works with both CCTV and IT systems compliant in operations under 802.3 af/at Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards and raises the bar over available competing products with cost effectiveness and ease of use.

Vigitron expands its Video Isolation Transformer family by introducing the new Vi1061 and Vi1062, high quality miniature video isolation transformers for CCTV and A/V applications.

Vigitron Announces a Line of UTP Transmission Solutions with Automatic Video Compensation (AVC)

Vigitron introduces the new Vi6200 and Vi6300 series of active receiver Hubs with Automatic Video Compensation (AVC) feature. These products are capable of transmitting and receiving video on UTP cable at mid range 4,000 feet (1,220m) and long range 6,500 feet (1,980m) transmission distances.
The new Automatic Video Compensation circuitry enables installers of CCTV to easily transmit video pictures over UTP cable at distances up to 6,500 feet (1,980m). When using AVC, excellent video quality is achieved automatically as the receivers do not require any adjustment.
The AVC’s “plug and play” capability reduces installation time dramatically. Simply fit a Vi6300VT, active transmitter at the camera and the Vi6200 series in the control room can automatically compensate for any video losses up to 4,000 feet (1,220m), while the Vi6300 series can provide excellent images up to 6,500 Feet (1,980m). These new Vigitron models are built to fit in a standard 19” rack and come with complete rack mounting kits and a full set of interconnecting cables.

Vigitron introduces the Vi1054VP UTP passive Video transmitter with built-in 12VDC converter. This compact model is designed for video-power connection of cameras in structured cabling applications.
It receives 24VAC power from Vigitron VPD combiners and converts it to 12VDC power at 600mA while transmitting video signal on the same Cat5 cable.
Security surveillance for newest ride at Legoland® Windsor with Vigitron

The Legoland® site contains approximately 55 million Lego® bricks set in 150 acres of parkland and is visited by 1.5 million annually. Staff at the Berkshire attraction is now able to watch visitors from two control desks at any point on their progress through the rapids ride.
Vikings’ River Splash, the newest, biggest, wettest ride at Legoland® Windsor, required optimum security surveillance to ensure customer safety and efficient operation.
DES Security Systems were chosen to install the system across the whole ride and worked with QED who provided the cable and Vigitron UTP equipment for the project. Vigitron, Inc designs and manufactures a full range of twisted pair transceivers for transmitting colour and monochrome video and data over unshielded twisted pair cable.
Andy Fielding of DES Security said: “Due to the huge voltages used to power the water pumps and a massive lake in the middle of the ride, the cabling had to go round the perimeter of the attraction. This required exceptionally long runs of over 500m. The performance of the Vigitron transceivers meant we could retain high signal quality over these distances.”
Sixteen cameras were fitted to the ride, using Vigitron transmitters feeding back to the powered receiver at the main control desk which in turn feeds the signals to the secondary control position via a single 25 pair CAT5 cable supplied by QED.

The Vigitron Vi6032 is a 32-port 1U rack-mountable active twisted pair video receiver HUB. It provides quality video over 6,000 feet (1,830m) of point-to-point unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wires when used with Vi6000VT transmitter. Vigitron announced today that it is now shipping Active and Passive 4-Channel UTP CCTV Transceivers. The Vi1004 (passive) and the Vi6004 (active) are 4-Channel UTP CCTV Transceivers are devices which are designed for sending Video signals over unshielded twisted pair wires up to 1,000 feet (305m) with passive version or up to 6,000 feet (1,830m) with active version.
They use Category 2-5 twisted pair wires, is easy to install, and cost effective. This receiver has built-in surge suppression to protect video equipment against damaging voltage spikes and provide noise immunity to ensure quality signals without disturbing "hum-bars". The distance for each channel is easily adjustable using a single potentiometer.
